Create a project based on one of the four following topics:

Bioethics Tackle pressing ethical, social, and legal issues in the bioinformatics field. Projects may address a variety of such topics. Examples include genetic privacy, clinical trial ethics, the implications of AI in medicine, etc.

AI/Machine Learning Applications in Genomics Use AI and/or Machine Learning to address complex problems in genomics, the study of genes and their functions. Examples include analyzing and gaining more insight of genetic data across different populations, contributing to genomic medicine, improving the understanding of genetic disorders, etc.

Cancer Genomics Combine the field of genomics and oncology to understand more about cancer. Uncover new insights about cancer mechanisms, progression, tumor behavior, and treatment responses. Use computational tools to analyze genomic data that can lead to breakthroughs in cancer research. Project ideas can vary widely, but need to focus specifically on cancer.

Equity & Justice Explore how bioinformatics can be used to promote equity and justice in health care. Project ideas can focus on developing tools that address disparities in topics like health care access, diagnosis, treatment, etc. The goal is to create projects that will lead to more equitable health practices and policies.
